View from the Kennebec River

The interior of the Museum is all in one great space on many levels.   The space expands from the entry in all three dimensions.  The levels down are connected by ramps that move from inside to an outer glass enclosed view of the site and up the river to the active shipyard.  The north wall steps out and so does the roof step up.  Natural indirect light comes from the north on the side and from clear-story glass at the ridge above.  Most of the exhibits are ship models and full size boats.
